These kaftans are made of handwoven 100% cotton material from a group of women weaver’s I found during my last trip to India. The unique fabrics are organic, created with natural dyes and often times hand spun- qualities are limited so these are one of a kind pieces. The organisation is an amazing story of a woman’s weaving cooperative providing skill training, child care and access for weavers to larger markets at a fair price for goods. Their main aim is working toward making handloom a profitable, sustainable and dignified income-earning activity directed to women living in India’s rural areas. The place is amazing! It was a textile junkie’s dream!
This garment falls to the floor with slits up the knee to give you a little more freedom. There’s a v-neck and draw string waist so it fits many shapes. The waist expands fully to 55cm to give you an idea regarding the size. Perfect for lounging around the house/cottage, to the beach and also walking around town.
