Kantha referring to “patched cloth” is the tradition of producing these unique, quilted blankets. The idea is to make something useful and beautiful out of discarded items. It’s quilting Indian style- The throws are each unique, combining fabric remnants mainly from old saris that are artfully pieced together and then hand stitched with occasional embroidered touches. This small, straight running stitch in commonly found in Bengali embroidery. The cotton material is super soft due to its years of use. The throws give a nice warm vintage look- great for comfortable styling or a relaxed cottage vibe. Images showing each side of the throw. This one is super thin- would also work for a tablecloth.
